FROM DESIGN TO REALITY CLIENT JOURNEY typical of Georgian period properties, had to be considered. The sink in their previous kitchen was positioned directly in front of the window – a feature Grace was keen to keep.As the cabinetry and sink would sit higher than the windowsill it was designed with easy access for cleaning and aesthetics from the garden in mind.Another challenging factor of the property was the structural pillar from a previous extension which now sits in the centre of the room. The island was designed to wrap around it –with the dining table one side of the column and the food preparation area on the other. The bespoke nature of all Davonport furniture made structural challenges such as these easy to work around; simply extra aspects to factor into the wider design. Grace chose the wording for her carved pantry drawers and crates, opting for the foods that the family enjoy most. 76
