The End of the Dining Room?

Are separate dining rooms and kitchens falling out of fashion as the trend for open-plan living rises?

The owners of this  Neil Lerner kitchen wanted a functional space where the family could spend time together. The brief was to create a statement room with lots of space and light.

Textured-lacquer units in a matt white lacquer with white Corian worktops were chosen because they are light and practical.  The owners requested neutral colours and handless units, which would not go out of fashion too quickly so this range fits the bill perfectly.

The island is great too for extra storage, worktop space and a perch for friends and family to sit.

So what do the owners think of their new look kitchen?

“We think it works well and will stand the test of time. It is our statement room and our family spends a lot of time in the kitchen/dining area –  we rarely use our dining room now.”
