Mix & Match

Mixing and matching materials is a key trend in kitchens right now.

The constant introduction of many new and exciting materials and colours has opened up so many more possibilities for originality in kitchen design. In fact, by choosing a variety of different surfaces and finishes (we have over 60 to choose from) in a coordinated blend of muted tones, you can create your very own colour palate for a totally unique outcome.

That’s exactly what was achieved by neillerner in this elegant Totteridge home, which boasts plenty of light coming from large windows on either side. Because of the size and shape of the room, Neil advised the client against using just one colour for all the doors and drawers and instead to contrast a dark terra oak wood veneer with beige grey satin lacquer and ginger Caesarstone worktops for a blended, lightweight feel.

Furthermore, Neil’s thoughtful design included extending the dark terra oak wood veneer into a table abutting the central island for casual kitchen dining.

As the owner is a keen cook and loves to entertain, Gaggenau appliances were recommended and the combination steam oven we installed is now a particular favourite of this client. As part of neillerner‘s renowned after-sales service, we even sent expert chef Denise Phillips around to her home to cook with her and show her how to use her new steam oven.  If this is something of interest to you, just let us know……

“Like many of our kitchen designs, this one was part of a much larger renovation project. We worked closely with the interior designer to ensure that the kitchen slotted perfectly into the overall scheme. The textures and tones work really well together and the doors are all handleless for a very contemporary feel, as requested by the clients”
