This client asked for a contemporary kitchen to form part of a large family living space. One of the essentials was storage, to create plenty of uncluttered space where two very energetic small children can play!
The finished kitchen provides specially fitted-out, extra-deep cupboards and drawers as well as taking into account the sheer scale of the room and the fact that it is flooded with natural light. Accordingly, the units are on a massive scale, with a series of reflective surfaces including high gloss white lacquer, steel, aluminium and glass. The solid hardwood floor, natural granite tops and interior lighting in the cabinets bring counterpoints of visual warmth. The large central island is both a cooking zone and a breakfast bar.
